X-Plorers Skin for Firefox

With John at Brave Halfling's permission, I put together an X-Plorers Firefox skin. It looks like this on a Mac:

It doesn't look quite as nice in Windows. If you test it out, try having three or four toolbars at the top of the browser in order to see the artwork better.

You can get it here. Maybe someone browsing through the thousands of skins available will stumble on it and discover the OSR publishers. Sorry, retro-clones...

I have a tough question. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm really not.

How is the editing in X-Plorers? I read the first product published by the author of that game, something for Labyrinth Lord. The editing was terrible. I'm not exaggerating when I say that there was a typo or grammatical error in nearly every paragraph. It was hideous.

I hate to drop the hammer on the guy, but it's the main reason I never picked it up. Man, I want an old school sci-fi RPG.

You might want to check out this review at Grognardia, he gives it a 7-8 out of 10 rating and doesn't mention any editing deficiencies.

To be honest though, I haven't played it, and if I have any motive here it's to further celebrate Mullen. That said, I do own a hard copy and like what I see - in a nutshell it's something like a Sci-Fi Whitebox.

Thanks for the review. As a long time fan of Star Frontiers, I've always wanted to run a rules-light space opera-ish sci fi game.

Man, I'm really on a sci-fi kick lately. I can barely scare up players for D&D as it is though.

Ze, this is a sweet theme! Thanks for putting it together. Christian, I have X-plorers (and am actively working on material for a "someday" game) and it's fine. A few small edits here or there, but by in large it's a fine product. Brave Halfling is working on a new book for it which--if I understand correctly--will also be available in booklet form sometime in the fall. It's a great read and looks to be a fun game!
